The Wisp

There are just some things I wanted to say
Before a goodbye and walking away
But the mood’s not right
Nor is the night

Perhaps I should wait for another time
Without heavy eyes from too much wine
With hearts full of hope
I’ll hand a note

I can not bear the sadness on your face
Hands drop from a warm embrace
And you ask me why
Then you’ll cry

So when I go, I’ll just be gone
No words, no tears, nor farewell poem
Not even a wisp
Or farewell kiss
A love that was
And forever missed.
